Design
Urban Bases Garden Design
Service is concerned with all aspects of garden design, with the aim of
providing efficient, imaginative and effective design solutions to clients
garden problems; responding to the physical, aesthetic and financial constraints
and opportunities.
Qualification
Carol Messham, our Landscape Architect, has a degree and diploma in Landscape
Architecture from Leeds University.
Twelve years experience in garden design working for herself and with other
firms including Harlow Carr, and Individual Gardens, formerly under the
directorship of Professor David Steven.
Carol also Lectures Part time in Landscape and Garden Design at the North Wales
Horticultural College.

Consultancy Service
This would
involve an initial visit to assess, survey the garden and obtain a brief from
you outlining the features and characteristics that you would like.
From this information we would create an outline sketch design, drawn to scale,
showing the design proposals with a further meeting with you to go through the
proposals. Once you are happy with the design ideas we produce the final
drawings with construction details for either you or a landscape contractor to
build the garden.
If fully detailed planting plans are required these can also be produced with a
maintenance guide as a separate phase.
Urban Bases can also organise tenders and arrange for landscape contractors to
undertake the work or alternatively you may prefer to construct the garden
yourself.
The fees for the design work are based on the size of the garden these being:
